About Us
The Mt. Carmel campus is part of the Mt. Carmel complex. The campus consists of a building with five separate classrooms. On the same property across a concrete separation is a fellowship hall that will accommodate 200 students. Adjacent to the fellowship hall is two kitchen areas housing all kitchen appliances including a ten-eye, double oven industrial stove. The fellowship hall is separated from the worship/chapel area, which accommodates 400 people, by glass double doors and a half glass wall. The outer structure of the building and outside plants and trees have a Japanese influence.
Planning for the Mt. Carmel Theological Seminary, Fresno, California extension began in the fall of 2001 on February 9, 2002. Dr. John Blouin, founder/president of the Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College delivered a charter to Dr. John A. Sims granting him the right to initiate a Fresno, California campus.
There are a total of 17 campuses stemming from the mother campus in Sacramento, California. One campus is in Japan, one is in Canada, and the rest are in the U. S. We are accredited by The Bureau of Secondary and Post-secondary Schools in Sacramento, California. We are also accredited by Accrediting International in Bee Bee, Arkansas. Our plan is to secure "WASC" approval in the very near future.
On the night of the formal charter presentation, seven students enrolled in our correspondence program. With the completion of the required essay booklets, prior college credits, and Christian service experience, these students completed their Bachelors of Arts requirements in six months. These students traveled to Sacramento to participate in the mother campus' graduation.
In the summer of 2002, a total of 15 resident and correspondent students enrolled. 12 of the 15 students graduated in the summer of 2003. We held our first local campus graduation on June 14, 2003. The remaining three students will complete their work by the end of fall in 2003.
We have a five-member board of directors and an eighty-five percent full administrative staff. We strongly support the philosophy of the founding president. His philosophy is "if you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach you, regardless of your economic status." For this reason, many of our staff donate their services to the school.
God is showing us that campuses such as ours are needed throughout the United States. Following His leadership, our plan is to establish five campuses in various states by the year of our Lord 2006.
